Participation agreement

In short

  • Cricket is a fun, active sport. Our coaches put safety first in every session, and like any sport there is still a small chance of bumps and injuries.
  • You sign once per child when you book, as their parent or guardian, and you can ask us for a paper copy at any time.
  • Tell us about any allergy or medical need, and keep it up to date. If your child is hurt and we cannot reach you, we will get them medical help straight away.
  • Photos of your child are your choice, and saying no never affects their place.
  • We ask everyone, players and parents, to be kind and respectful, and to follow the coaches' safety instructions.

Participation Agreement. Version 2026-10-30.

1. Who this is between. This agreement is between CT Sports Club LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company, together with its owners, coaches, staff, volunteers and the venues it uses (together, "the Club"), and you, the parent or legal guardian signing for the child named at booking ("your child"). By signing, you confirm you are your child's parent or legal guardian and can sign for them.

2. What your child will do. Youth cricket for ages 6 to 17: free evaluations, group classes, private coaching, practice games, matches and events, indoors and outdoors. Beginners use a soft ball. Later stages use a hard leather ball, bats, stumps and a bowling machine, always with protective equipment.

3. The risks, honestly. Cricket is an active sport, and even with good coaching and care, injuries can happen. These include being hit by a ball or bat, collisions, trips and falls, sprains, strains, broken bones, cuts and bruises, overuse injuries, head injuries including concussion, dental or eye injuries, heat illness and allergic reactions. Rarely, injuries can be serious. Risks can also come from the floor or field, the nets and equipment, the weather, and other people taking part or watching.

4. Accepting the risks. You have read these risks and the Club's Concussion Information, you understand them, and you accept them for yourself and your child. You or your child can stop any activity at any time by telling a coach.

5. Release. To the fullest extent Connecticut law allows, you release the Club from any claim for injury, illness, loss or damage to your child or to you that arises from your child taking part, including claims based on the Club's own negligence. This does not cover gross negligence, recklessness or intentional misconduct, or anything else the law does not allow to be released. You understand that, by signing, you are giving up rights you might otherwise have.

6. Not bringing released claims. To the fullest extent the law allows, you agree not to bring a claim released above, and to cover the Club's reasonable costs, including legal costs, if one is brought by you, your child or anyone on your child's behalf.

7. Safety and rules. Your child will follow the coaches' instructions and the Club's Safety and Safeguarding rules, wear the protective equipment needed for their stage, and tell a coach about any pain or illness. The Club may pause or end a child's participation at any time for safety, including after a suspected head injury, an illness, or behavior that puts others at risk.

8. Medical information. Please tell the Club about any medical condition, allergy, medication, injury or other need before your child's first session, and whenever something changes. The Club relies on what you tell it. Only staff authorized to see medical details can see them, and every view is recorded.

9. Emergency care. If your child is hurt or unwell and we cannot reach you or your emergency contact quickly, you authorize the Club to call emergency services and to agree to the first aid, transport and medical treatment a qualified medical professional thinks is needed. You are responsible for the costs. The Club does not provide medical insurance for players, so please keep your child's health insurance in place.

10. Photos and video. You choose whether the Club may use photos or video of your child on its website, social media or promotions, and you can change your choice at any time by emailing the Club. Your choice never affects your child's place, and the Club never shows a child's full name or school with an image. Parents may photograph their own child; please do not post pictures of other children without their parents' permission.

11. Respect for everyone. Players, parents and visitors treat coaches, players, officials and venue staff with respect. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, abusive language and violence are not accepted. The Club may refuse attendance to anyone whose behavior puts others' safety or wellbeing at risk, under its Refunds policy.

12. Drop-off and pick-up. You are responsible for your child before a session begins and after it ends. The Club releases a child only to you or to an adult you have named.

13. Fees. Fees, cancellations, make-ups and refunds follow the Club's Refunds, Cancellation and Make-ups policy, which is part of this agreement.

14. Privacy. The Club looks after your family's information as described in its Privacy Notice.

15. Signing online. You agree to sign electronically. Your typed name, your tick for each child, and the date, time, internet address and device recorded when you sign are your signature, with the same effect as signing on paper, under the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act and the Connecticut Uniform Electronic Transactions Act. You can ask for a free paper copy at any time, or ask to sign on paper instead before the session. A copy of what you signed is emailed to you and kept by the Club.

16. The legal details. Connecticut law governs this agreement. Any legal proceeding about it will be brought only in the Connecticut Superior Court for the Judicial District of Tolland at Rockville, or the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. If any part is found unenforceable, it is limited only as far as the law requires, and the rest still applies. This agreement and the policies it names are the whole agreement about your child taking part, and they apply to every session until you sign a newer version. It binds you, your child, and your and your child's heirs and representatives.

Questions? Email us before you sign; we are happy to explain anything.

Concussion information

In short

  • Head injuries are rare in junior cricket, and beginners play with a soft ball. Helmets go on for every hard-ball drill.
  • If a coach sees any sign of a head injury, your child sits out for the rest of the session, and we call you the same day.
  • Your child comes back only with a note from a doctor or other licensed health professional, and then eases back in step by step.
  • Connecticut law asks every youth sports program to share this information with parents, so you confirm you have read it when you book.
Read the full concussion information

Concussion Information and Consent. Version 2026-10-30.

Why you are reading this. Connecticut law asks every operator of a youth athletic activity to give parents information about concussions at registration, and to ask them to confirm they have received it (Connecticut General Statutes section 21a-432). This information follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) HEADS UP guidance and the Connecticut State Board of Education's concussion information. Please read it with your child.

What a concussion is. A concussion is a brain injury caused by a bump, blow or jolt to the head, or by a hit to the body that makes the head move quickly. In cricket it can happen if a player is hit by the ball or bat, collides with someone, or falls. Most concussions do not involve passing out, and even a mild bump can matter.

Signs others may notice. Looking dazed or stunned; confusion about what to do; forgetting an instruction; being unsure where they are; clumsy movement; slow answers; passing out, even briefly; changes in mood or behavior; not remembering what happened before or after.

What a child may feel. Headache or pressure in the head; feeling sick or vomiting; dizziness or poor balance; double or blurry vision; sensitivity to light or noise; feeling slow, foggy or groggy; trouble concentrating or remembering; just not feeling right.

Call 911 straight away if you see: one pupil larger than the other; drowsiness or not waking; a headache that gets worse; slurred speech, weakness, numbness or poor coordination; repeated vomiting; a seizure; increasing confusion, restlessness or agitation; or loss of consciousness.

Why it matters. A young brain needs time to heal. Going back too soon risks a second concussion, which can mean a longer recovery and, rarely, serious lasting harm.

What the Club does. Any player who shows signs of a concussion, or may have one, stops immediately and does not return that day, and we tell you the same day. Your child returns to Club activities only after you give us written clearance from a licensed health care professional trained in concussion care, and then returns gradually, as that professional advises. Our coaches complete concussion training and keep it current.

How you can help. Tell us about any concussion your child has had, including any that happens outside the Club. Encourage your child to tell a coach if they or a teammate feel unwell. Follow your health care provider's advice on rest and returning to school and sport.

More information: CDC HEADS UP, cdc.gov/heads-up.

Your confirmation. When you tick for your child at booking, you confirm that you have received and read this information, that you understand what a concussion is, its risks, including the danger of continuing to play after one, and how the Club removes and returns players, and that you agree to your child taking part in the Club's activities.

Refunds, Cancellation and Make-ups. Version 2026-10-30.

Evaluations. Evaluations are free. If you cannot make it, please change or cancel your time with the link in your confirmation email, or email us, at least 2 hours before the start so another family can have the place.

Registration fee. If you withdraw before your child's first class, we refund the registration fee in full. Once your child has attended a class, the registration fee is not refundable. Sibling and Founding Families discounts apply as described when you enrol.

Class fees. Class fees are paid in advance for the period on your invoice. Fees for classes that have not happened yet are refunded or credited as described below.

Missed classes. If your child misses a class for your own reasons, we offer a make-up in another class at the same level, in the same or the next month, when a place is free. Missed classes are not refunded.

Classes we cancel. If we cancel a class, for example because of weather, the venue or a coach being unwell, we let you know as early as we can and offer a make-up class. If we cannot offer one within 30 days, we credit that class to your next invoice or refund it, whichever you prefer.

Leaving the Club. You can withdraw your child at any time by emailing us. Classes more than 14 days after your email are refunded or credited, as you prefer; classes within those 14 days are charged. If your child has to stop because of an injury or illness, send us a note from a health care provider and we refund every class after the date of your email.

If the Club ends a place. If the Club ends a child's participation for safety reasons or because of behavior, as set out in the Participation Agreement, we refund the classes after that date. Classes already attended are not refunded.

How refunds are paid. We refund to the original payment method, or in the way we agree with you for Venmo, Zelle or cash payments, within 10 business days of approving the refund. We never charge a fee for a refund.

Questions or concerns. Email us first; we reply within 2 business days and always try to put things right. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Connecticut or federal consumer protection law.

Safety and safeguarding

In short

  • Every coach is background-checked before working with children, and checked again at least every 5 years.
  • Sessions happen in open spaces where other adults can see, and coaches message parents, never children directly.
  • Helmets, pads and gloves are worn for hard-ball cricket, and we lend kit if your child does not have it yet.
  • We hand your child back only to you or an adult you have named.
  • Worried about anything? Tell us straight away, in confidence. We act on every concern.

Safety and Safeguarding. Version 2026-10-30.

Our promise. Every child should feel safe, respected and happy at cricket. These rules apply to all our coaches, staff and volunteers, and to players, parents and visitors at Club activities.

Who coaches your child. Every coach, instructor and trainer aged 18 or over passes a full background check before working with children, and again at least every 5 years, as Connecticut law requires (Connecticut General Statutes section 21a-432). The check covers criminal history, the Connecticut child abuse and neglect registry, the Connecticut sex offender registry and the National Sex Offender Public Website. Our coaches are trained in concussion awareness, first aid and these safeguarding rules.

Reporting worries about a child. Under Connecticut law, coaches of youth sports aged 18 or over are mandated reporters. If any coach or staff member has reasonable cause to suspect a child is being harmed or neglected, they report it to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, as the law requires.

Supervision. Sessions take place in open, visible areas. A coach is never alone with a child out of sight of other adults. For one-to-one private coaching, a parent or another adult is welcome to watch, and the session is in an open area. Coaches do not drive children, visit players' homes or give gifts to individual players.

Messages and social media. Coaches talk to parents, not directly to children, using your email, your mobile or the Club's parent group. Coaches do not connect with players on personal social media. Photos and video follow the choice you make when you book.

The right kit. For soft-ball stages your child needs sports shoes, comfortable clothes and a water bottle. For hard-ball stages, including the bowling machine, players wear a helmet with a face guard when batting or keeping wicket, batting pads, batting gloves and an abdominal guard. We lend kit to anyone who needs it. Coaches check kit before hard-ball activity and set the bowling machine to suit each player.

Health and the venue. Coaches check the area and equipment before each session, keep a first aid kit close by, give water breaks, and change or stop activity in heat, poor air quality or unsafe conditions. We record any injury and tell you the same day. Head injuries follow our Concussion Information.

Drop-off and pick-up. Please bring your child to the coach at the start and collect them at the end. We hand a child only to a parent, guardian or adult you have named. If a child has not been collected, a coach stays with them and keeps calling you and your emergency contact.

Kindness and behavior. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, abusive language and violence are never accepted, from anyone. Coaches use positive, age-appropriate coaching and never use physical punishment or humiliation. Parents and spectators cheer from the side and leave the coaching to the coaches.

Raising a concern. If you are worried about a child's safety or anyone's behavior, tell an owner straight away by email or WhatsApp, in confidence. We act on every concern, keep a record and tell the authorities where the law requires. You can also call the Connecticut Department of Children and Families Careline at any time on 1-800-842-2288. In an emergency, call 911.

Privacy Notice. Version 2026-10-30.

Who we are. CT Sports Club LLC ("we", "us") runs youth cricket coaching in Connecticut. This notice explains what information we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it and the choices you have. For any privacy question, email ctsportsclub@gmail.com.

What we collect. About you: your name, email and mobile number and, if you choose to give them, your address, an emergency contact and how you heard about us. About your child, from you: their name and date of birth and, if you choose to give them, allergies, medical conditions, cricket experience, shirt size and preferred class days. When you sign: your typed name, your relationship to your child, the version of each document, and the date, time, internet address and device used. Once classes start: attendance, progress notes and payment records. We never see or store full card or bank numbers; payments are handled by our payment provider. We collect information about children only from their parents or guardians, never from children directly.

What we never do. We do not sell or rent personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or share it with other businesses for their marketing. Our website uses no advertising or tracking cookies, only the ones needed for signing in and booking.

Why we use it. To book and run evaluations and classes; to keep children safe, including medical, emergency and concussion records; to keep signed agreements as a record of your consent; to send confirmations, reminders and updates about your child's classes; to take payments; to meet our legal obligations; and to improve our programs. We send news and offers only if you agree, and you can stop them at any time.

Who can see it. Only Club staff who need it for their role. Coaches see the names, ages and safety flags, such as an allergy, of the children in their own sessions, but not addresses or payment details. Medical details are shown only to authorized staff, and every view is recorded, as is every change to records. These providers store or process information for us, under contract and in the United States: Vercel (website), Supabase (database and storage), Resend (email) and, for payments, Stripe. We share information with anyone else only when the law requires it, to protect a child's safety, or with your permission.

How we protect it. Information is encrypted as it travels and where it is stored; staff accounts need a second sign-in step; access is limited by role; and signed agreements are kept in private storage, opened only through short-lived links. If a security breach ever affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as Connecticut law requires.

How long we keep it. If your child does not join, we delete your family's details 12 months after we last heard from you. If your child joins, we keep their records while they take part and for 3 years after. A record of each signed agreement (the signer's typed name, document version, date and a fingerprint of the text) is kept for 7 years after your child last takes part, or longer if needed for a legal claim, because it is the record of the consent you gave. Payment records are kept as tax law requires.

Your choices. You can ask to see the information we hold about you and your child, correct it, get a copy, or have it deleted (we keep only what the law requires, such as signed agreement and payment records), and you can stop marketing messages at any time. Connecticut residents have these rights under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act where it applies. Email ctsportsclub@gmail.com; we reply within 45 days, and using your rights never affects how we treat you. If we cannot agree to a request, we explain why and how to appeal.

Children. Our website is for parents and guardians. It is not aimed at children and does not collect information from them.

Changes. If we update this notice, we post the new version here with a new date and email enrolled families about any important change.
